The Banksia Foundation

The Banksia Foundation is dedicated to working with government, industry and community to focus attention on the recognition of excellence in sustainability.

The Banksia Sustainability Awards, are regarded as the most prestigious sustainability awards in Australia now in our 32nd year.

Our finalists and winners have overcome great challenges, learnt important lessons and shared their story through the Banksia Foundation. Their tireless efforts in making a positive difference to our sustainable future has inspired and motivated other individuals, organisations and companies across Australia. 

In 2018 Banksia aligned the Awards to be based on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. This allows the Banksia’s to align with global standards and to provide a better understanding of the integration between social, environmental and financial elements throughout our society. Aligning your initiative with the SDGs provides a gauge of Australia’s progress towards them and will ensure we are contributing to the international push for sustainable development. 

We look forward to working with you through the Eco Club awards and other other programs in embracing sustainability and through learning more about the SDGs and discovering how your amazing effort fits with the global context of ensuring a better future for all.
